This will be roughly one month on the road, in the woods and on the river.<\/p>\n<h2>The rough itinerary, subject to change on a whim:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>3 days in Roanoke to take my mom out for Mother&#8217;s Day brunch<\/li>\n<li>5 days wandering to Kansas City, maybe checking these out:\n<ul>\n<li>1-2 days in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/dbnf\/\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Boone National Forest<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.landbetweenthelakes.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Land Between the Lakes<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisisindiana.org\/content.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Historic Cordon, IN<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>4 days in Kansas City with my brother, sis-in-law and nephew\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/americanjazzmuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Jazz Museum<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Eat some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joeskc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joe&#8217;s KC BBQ<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Play <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=company+of+heroes+2&amp;espv=2&amp;biw=1600&amp;bih=758&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=isch&amp;sa=X&amp;ei=Zn1PVY_LLqaIsQT48IHQBg&amp;ved=0CAgQ_AUoAw#tbm=isch&amp;q=company+of+heroes+2+screenshots&amp;revid=704905775\" target=\"_blank\">Company of Heroes 2<\/a> with my brother and nephew<\/li>\n<li>Go for a long bike ride with my bro<\/li>\n<li>Maybe work in a paddle on a nearby river or lake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>4 days wandering to Moab, UT with stops potentially at\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/arch\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Arches National Park<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/cany\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Canyonlands National Park<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/blca\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>12 days paddling 120 miles of the Green River, UT with my good buddy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dave.heisley?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Dave<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>Put in on May 23 at Crystal Geyser, close to where the Green River crosses under I70, north of Canyonlands, west of Arches<\/li>\n<li>Take out on June 3 at Spanish Bottom at the confluence with the Colorado River<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>5 days back home, 400 miles per day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>My traveling home:<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be living in\u00a0the back of my truck (2002 Nissan Frontier) which has been fixed up for just such an occasion with lighting and electrical distribution in the bed, including 110V, a memory foam mattress, stove, water supply and storage boxes to keep everything organized. The memory foam mattress is very comfy, especially with three thermarests under it. There are two overhead lights, 12V and 110V electrical and storage boxes to keep everything organized.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Most important, my supportive wife:<\/h2>\n<p>My wonderful wife, Denise, has been incredibly supportive of my lifelong desire to travel and find adventure in the US and abroad. She supported me while I worked my tail off in my career for 20 years. Now she&#8217;s cheering me on as I take off for months at a time to explore the corners of our most awesome country and world for the next decade or more.
