Utah Canoeing Trip – Day 13, Canyonlands NP
I was truly floored by the uniqueness and beauty of Canyonlands National Park. It’s ridiculous how much natural beauty we have in the United States and what a great job we have done to preserve so many unique places. Having a perspective from above will certainly enhance the experience of paddling through the canyons below over the next two weeks. There are some great pics in this post, don’t miss out. And by all means, get your butt out there and visit this place.

Utah Canoeing Trip – Day 12, Arches National Park
I finally got to see Arches National Park! It was everything I hoped it could be and then some. In the golden hour of the evening I was able to capture some very nice pictures. Enjoy them all!

The Utah Canoeing Trip – Day 12, Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Anyone who has visited our National Parks knows that each is freaking awesome. Black Canyon of the Gunnison is no different. A key unique feature is the great depth relative to its very narrow width and you have to be there to be there, the pics are nice but the experience of exploring this place for a day is… wow.

The Utah Canoeing Trip – Days 10-11, KS to CO and the Rockies
Definition of day 10: “continue 533 miles and then take a right”. Day 11: “welcome to the Rockies. Go forth and let thy soul prosper”. Over two days I got to enjoy the expansive plains of western Kansas, snow at Loveland Pass, an awesome mountain lake hike, and cool formations in southwest Colorado. Variety has arrived!

The Utah Canoeing Trip – Days 7-9 Kansas City
Kansas City rocks. It has my brother, my sister-in-law, and my nephew. It has the 18th and Vine historic jazz era, a must-see for swing era music buffs. Awesome BBQ. Wait, there’s more: the Steamboat Arabia museum, the coolest museum I’ve been to in probably 10 years with a nice farmer’s market a block away. Oh, fixed the one thing that wasn’t working in my truck – the lights in my home in the back!

The Utah Canoeing Trip – Day 6
Even if you’re not a train fan you will enjoy some really unique train pics in this post. I arrived thinking “Hmmm, ANOTHER transportation museum…. Well, if there’s one thing I have, it’s time.” I left thinking “man, a day blew by in there before I knew it, what a blast!”
